Wigan 20/11/10

Rooney's Return. A warm but conditional welcome for Wayne Rooney following his controversial and very public contract negotiations. A poor first half was saved just before the break by a rare Patrice Evra goal. When Rooney came on in a double substitution with Paul Scholes in the second half, United went on the front foot. This was more to do with Paul Scholes's presence combined with Wigan having two sent off in a matter of minutes. Hernandez sneaked on the pitch as a later sub almost unnoticed and rose to head in a second goal from a great cross from Rafael. Considering all the fuss around Rooney, it was these two young players who showed skill and determination.

Spurs 30/10/10

Very good game of football by two very attractive teams. Spurs look good in all positions and United started to look assured and solid for the first time this season. Nani was the biggest threat and the main talking point. He was busy the whole match, setting up Vidic's header, plenty of penetrating runs and the cheeky tap in goal certainly got tongues wagging. It happened right in front of me, and while I have the perfect angle for most of the drama, for the actual tap in itself, I was looking the other way. Such is life.
